About:

An avid reader, Cassandra always loved writing and first started writing stories in marble notebooks. Gradually, Cassandra’s love of writing fiction developed into poetry. After penning a few poems and submitting them into online forums, she wrote her first spoken-word poem in 2010. Cassandra’s first performance was in front of an audience at a university poetry event in 2014, winning second place. She then launched herself further into performance poetry through locally-based poetry organizations. A variety of pieces have been developed, covering topics such as love, self-discovery, hurt, and humor - all written with aching vulnerability.

More to come.

Cassandra’s first self-published book of poetry This Is How You Love Her is dedicated to men, women, girls, and women-in-transition, learning how to love themselves.

“I HAVE COME to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood.”
